The Afro-Caribbean Cultural Center empowers Afro-Caribbean Black and Tano communities through the arts education and activism. This includes strategies that foster youth education & self-determination deepening community connections and preserving Afro-Latino Black & Tano cultures. While building our organizational capacity to uplift our community and celebrate our rich heritage with confidence and purpose across generations.

THE AFTER SCHOOL ARTS PROGRAM, INC. IS DEDCIATED TO PROVIDING ARTISTIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN, PARENTS, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, PARTICULARLY THOSE FROM NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT, THROUGH EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, EVENTS, AND FIELD TRIPS WITH PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS AND ART ORGANIZATIONS.

BACKCOUNTRY JAZZ (BCJAZZ) PRESENTS CONCERTS WITH CELEBRATED JAZZ ARTISTS AND RISING STARS AND EDUCATES AND INSPIRES YOUTH THROUGH MUSIC. BCJAZZ PROVIDES HIGH QUALITY MUSIC PROGRAMS FOR UNDERSERVED YOUTH THAT ENGAGE THE CREATIVE SPIRIT, ENCOURAGE SELF EXPRESSION AND STIMULATE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. THROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF OUTSTANDING CONCERTS, MUSIC EDUCATION AND A SUMMER MUSIC CAMP, BACKCOUNTRY JAZZ CELEBRATES, PRESERVES AND EXPANDS THE RICH TRADITION OF AMERICA'S ART FORM, JAZZ.

BEST VIDEO FILM & CULTERAL CENTER'S MISSION IS TO PRESERVE AN INTERNATIONAL ARCHIVE OF OVER 30,000 DVD'S AND EXPLORE NEW WAYS TO BRING PEOPLE, FILM, AND MUSIC TOGETHER IN A COMMUNITY SPACE. IT WILL ACCOMPLISH ITS MISSION BY PROVIDING A) MOVIE SCREENINGS WITH INTRODUCTIONS AND POST-FILM DISCUSSIONS THAT ENRICH THE APPRECIATION OF THE FILM CONTENT B) A PERFORMANCE SPACE COMMITTED TO AN ECLECTIC PROGRAMMING THAT VALUES INDIVIDUAL MUSICAL VISION THROUGH DIVERSE GENRES OF MUSIC: JAZZ, FOLK, ROCK, CLASSICAL, AND EXPERIMENTAL WHILE FOSTERING CONVERSATION THAT INFORMS, EDUCATES, AND ENRICHES AUDIENCE PERFORMERS. C) A VENUE FOR LITERARY EVENTS, INCLUDING POETRY, SHORT STORY, PUBLIC COMMENTARY READINGS, AND DISCUSSIONS WITH AUTHORS. LASTLY, BEST VIDEO FILM & CULTERAL CENTER WILL SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION INCLUDING A PLATFORM TO EXPAND ACCESS TO FILM IN UNDERSERVED PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

Utilizing interest areas to create programming for at-risk youth focusing on education, healthy lifestyle choices, and identity.

The purpose of the Colebrook Preservation Society, Inc (CPS) is to acquire, renovate, preserve, and/or operate buildings of historical significance located within the Town of Colebrook. On June 28, 2013, CPS purchased the Colebrook Store from FEC Enterprises, LLC, who acquired it in bankruptcy several years earlier. Until it's bankruptcy, the Colebrook Store was the longest continuously operated store in Connecticut. and has been listed on the National Register of Historical Places since April 26, 1976. The Colebrook Store is one of only four non-residential buildings in Colebrook (others including the Town Hall, the Historical Society, and the Congregational Church). To us it's more then just a store, its a gathering place for the 1,457 residents of Colebrook, together with our neighbors in the nearby towns of Norfolk, Winsted, and Barkhamsted.
