Mission and programs

Guided by the belief in dance as a powerful means for cultural and social transformation, Moveius Contemporary Ballet's mission is to catalyze art and community vibrancy in Washington, DC and expand access to the performing arts to a full range of audiences, regardless of income, background, or location. We are is deeply committed to uplifting the diverse, historically underserved communities in our city, especially in our home neighborhood of Ward 4, by removing barriers to the arts. Our primary goals are to incubate new professional dance works, provide affordable rehearsal, living, and performance, and promote broad and diverse access to the performing arts. We envision a city where performing artists have sufficient space and art has a direct positive impact on the quality of life for residents.
