AIA SOUTH CAROLINA PROMOTES THE PROFESSION OF ARCHITECTURE THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION AND PUBLIC OUTREACH. THE CHAPTER SUPPORTS THE CREATION OF EQUITABLE COMMUNITIES THROUGH ITS WORK PROMOTING FAIR STATE LAWS AND ACTIVITIES OF SIX LOCAL SECTIONS, CHARLESTON, COLUMBIA, GRAND STRAND, GREENVILLE, HILTON HEAD ISLAND, AND SPARTANBURG. AIA SOUTH CAROLINA SERVES AS THE VOICE OF THE PROFESSION AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE; ADVANCES KNOWLEDGE IN THE PROFESSION THROUGH ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS; AND ENGAGES THE PUBLIC THROUGH ITS ANNUAL AWARDS PROGRAM, PUBLICATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA ARCHITECTURE MAGAZINE, AND OPEN HOUSES AND EXHIBITS AT ITS HOME IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURE.
