The Kappa Alpha Corporation of Hobart College was formed in 1931 for the purpose of alumni support and oversight of the Kappa Alpha Society of Hobart College, an undergraduate social fraternity. The Corporation owns a residence for undergraduate students at 600 South Main Street, Geneva, New York, adjacent to Hobart College. All activities of the Corporation take place at this residence or within the college and local community. By by-law of the Corporation, members of the social fraternity chapter are also members of the Corporation upon joining the fraternity. The Corporation provides financial support, mentoring, and guidance for the undergraduate fraternity. Financial support includes maintenance of the residence, costs associated with certain proscribed activities focused on community involvement, and emergency funding of both the fraternity and individual members when necessary. Core to the mission of the corporation is leadership training and adherence to rules and social norms
