THE MISSION IS THE GENERAL IMPROVEMENT OF THE FIRE SERVICE THROUGHOUT THE SIX COUNTIES, TO AFFORD RELIEF, SUPPORT AND BURIAL OF FIREMEN AND THOSE DEPENDENT UPON THEM, TO OPEN DISCUSSION UPON THE BEST MANNER AND MEANS OF FIGHTING FIRES AND THEIR PREVENTION, TO PROMOTE ORGANIZATIONS OF FIRE COMPANIES AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS, IN CITIES, BOROUGHS, FIRST-CALL TOWNSHIPS AND VILLAGES NOW WITH OR WITHOUT SUCH PROTECTION, AND TO ENCOURAGE A FRATERNAL FRIENDSHIP AMONG FIREMEN.
