The Southern California Genealogical Society (SCGS) exists to foster the understanding and appreciation of the collective and individual histories, cultures and traditions of our diverse communities, and recognition of their contributions to our dynamic society. SCGS endeavors to preserve genealogical materials, support ethnic and special interest groups, and provide education and guidance using accepted and effective research techniques, documentation, and dissemination of family histories.
