Pennsylvania 19107 (historically known as the "Thomas Butler House"), which shall help guard against ANY DETERIORATION OF THE HISTORIC AREA IN WHICH THE Thomas Butler HOUSE IS CURRENTLY SITUATED AS WELL AS PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELL-BEING AND SOCIAL WELFARE OF THE COMMUNITY SURROUNDING THE Thomas Butler HOUSE. THE HOUSE WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT BY DANIEL R. & ROBERT KNIGHT BUILDERS FOR THOMAS BUTLER IN 1838. THE HOUSE WAS LATER EXPANDED AND ALTERED BY OTHER HIGH SOCIETY ARCHITECTS, NAMELY FURNESS AND EVANS IN 1888 AND MELLOR, MEIGS AND HOWE IN 1916. WILSON EYRE ALSO MADE SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INTERIORS OVER THE YEARS. THE Thomas Butler HOUSE WAS ENTERED INTO THE PHILADELPHIA REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES ON JUNE 28, 1956.
