FAMILIES QUALIFY TO PARTICIPATE IF THEIR FALLEN MEMBER WAS KILLED IN ACTION (KIA), DIED AS A DIRECT RESULT OF UNHEALED INJURIES SUSTAINED WHILE IN COMBAT, OR DIED AS A RESULT OF A COMBAT PTSD SELF INFLICTED/SUICIDE EVENT. ELIGIBILITY IS LIMITED TO IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE PAID THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. IF THERE IS NO IMMEDIATE FAMILY, A NON-FAMILY MEMBER MAY BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND AND SUPPORT THE GOLD STAR FAMILY MEMBER. A SCHOLARSHIP FUND WILL BE CREATED AND ADMINISTERED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL REVENUE FOR THOSE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE FALLEN WHO WISH TO PERSUE POST
