To support children and strengthen family relationships by serving as Mercer Countys hub for child advocacy and family resource services.

The goal of the Marion County Child Advocacy Center is to provide a safe place for children who are victims of sexual and physical abuse to have their stories clearly heard and begin the healing process. The Marion County Child Advocacy Center in a new way of serving abused children through a comprehensive approach to services for victims and families. it is a child-focused, facility-based program, in which the Child Advocacy Center incorporates a team approach to the investigation of child abuse, by providing joint forensic interviews. By bringing all members of the investigatory team together, we eliminate the need for multiple interviews by multiple professionals. Our goal is to have the child only tell their story one time so they are not further victimized. TO PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES TO THE POOR AND INDIGENT PEOPLE IN THE 13TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT OF WEST VIRGINIA.

TO REPRESENT THE BEST INTERESTS OF CHILDREN INVOLVED IN CIVIL PROCEEDINGS DUE TO ABUSE AND/OR NEGLECT. COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE ASSOCIATIONS SUPPORT AND PROMOTE COURT-APPOINTED VOLUNTEER ADVOCACY FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN SO THAT THEY CAN THRIVE IN SAFE, PERMANAENT HOMES. CASA VOLUNTEERS ARE APPOINTED BY JUDGES TO WATCH OVER AND ADVOCATE FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN TO MAKE SURE THEY DON'T GET LOST IN THE OVERBURDENED LEGAL AND SOCIAL SERVICE SYSTEM OR LANGUISH IN AN INAPPROPRIATE GROUP OR FOSTER HOME. THEY STAY WITH EACH CASE UNTIL IT IS CLOSED AND THE CHILD IS PLACED IN A SAFE, PERMANENT HOME. FOR MANY ABUSED CHILDREN, THEIR CASA VOLUNTEER WILL BE THE ONE CONSTANT ADULT PRESCENCE, THE ONE ADULT WHO CARES ONLY FOR THEM.
