Donor Portal

The Donor Portal is a self-service experience for supporters who already exist in your donor database. Staff send magic links from Donor CRM; donors can also request a link from the public portal login when their email matches an active donor record. Multi-org donors see combined history, event registrations, and published giving pages across every fund they support.

What You Can Do (as staff)

• Send or resend portal invites from a donor profile when the donor has a real email
• Let donors download annual contribution statements and individual receipts
• Route recurring donors to self-service billing portal for card, amount, and subscription changes
• Surface active giving pages so returning donors can start a new gift from the portal

What Donors See

• Lifetime, year-to-date, and count summaries with donation history by organization and purpose
• Tax report PDF generation for the selected calendar year
• Manage Payments—one button that opens self-service billing portal when they have billing on file
• Give Now when published giving pages exist for funds they have supported
• Profile editing for contact fields and photo; email changes remain staff-mediated today

Common Tasks

Onboard a first-time portal user

1. Confirm the donor record exists with a deliverable email.
2. Click Send login link on the donor profile.
3. Ask the donor to click the email link within the OTP window; they land on /donor-portal without creating a password.

Good to Know

Portal access is magic-link and OTP based—there is no separate donor password workflow. Staff who are also donors must use an explicit portal link to enter portal mode; a normal staff password login keeps the full admin app.

Dual-access volunteers who are also donors may see a merged portal with tabs for volunteer hours and donations. Donor self-service always scopes to the authenticated donor’s linked records.

Donor Portal is included with Donor Hub on all plans that record donors. online payment features require payment processing to be connected on the parent organization or receiving fund.
