Memorized Transactions
Save Time with Templates
Memorized Transactions let you save recurring journal entries as templates and schedule them to post automatically. If you have the same rent payment, insurance allocation, or depreciation entry every month, set it up once and let Alignmint handle it going forward.
Creating a Template
- Create a journal entry as you normally would (or find an existing one you want to repeat)
- Click "Save as Template" or "Memorize"
- Give the template a descriptive name (e.g., "Monthly Rent", "Quarterly Insurance Allocation")
- Choose whether to schedule it or keep it as on-demand
Scheduling Options
- Monthly: Posts on a specific day each month (e.g., the 1st or the 15th)
- Quarterly: Posts at the end of each quarter
- Annually: Posts on a specific date each year (e.g., December 31 for year-end adjustments)
- On Demand: Saved as a template but only posts when you manually trigger it
Common Uses
- Rent: Monthly rent expense with the same amount and accounts every time
- Depreciation: Monthly depreciation entries for fixed assets
- Insurance Allocation: Spreading prepaid insurance across months
- Payroll Accruals: Month-end payroll accrual entries
- Inter-Fund Transfers: Regular transfers between funds
Managing Templates
View all your memorized transactions from Tools → Memorized Transactions. You can edit amounts, accounts, or schedules anytime. Pause a template temporarily or delete it when it's no longer needed.
Review Before Posting
Scheduled entries appear in a "Pending" queue before they post, giving you a chance to review and adjust if something changed (like a rent increase). You can also set them to auto-post without review if you prefer a fully hands-off approach.
