Donor Householding

Householding lets you group related donors—like spouses or family members living at the same address—into a single household. This gives you a more complete picture of a family's total giving and helps you communicate more efficiently.

Why Use Householding

Combined Giving Totals: See the household's total contributions, not just one person's
One Receipt Per Household: Send a single tax receipt instead of duplicates
Avoid Duplicate Mailings: Send one letter or email per household instead of multiple
Better Donor Segmentation: Segment by household giving level for more accurate targeting

Automatic Matching

Alignmint can automatically suggest household matches based on shared last names and addresses. Review the suggestions and approve or dismiss them.

Manual Linking

You can also manually link donors into a household from any donor's profile page. Choose a primary contact for the household who will be the main recipient for communications.

Household Reports

When generating donor reports, you can choose to group by household. This shows combined giving for each family unit.
