Grant Assistant is research and writing help—not live grant accounting. Save strategy facts once, browse opportunities from the public grant directory plus manual entries, build editable section drafts, export packets for funder portals, and record awards when a proposal wins. Do not treat “Open Fundraising → Grant Assistant” as the only path; the hub tile may stay closed while the rest of fundraising stays live.

Common Tasks

Draft a new application packet

1. When Grant Assistant is open for your organization, confirm Strategy is current.
2. Pick an opportunity and choose Build draft.
3. Edit each section, export the packet, and submit through the funder’s own portal.

Record an award after the funder says yes

1. Open the draft you used for the application, or enter the award in Grants Receivable.
2. Record amount, dates, and restriction details.
3. Continue drawdowns and reporting in Grants Receivable.

Good to Know

Grant Assistant requires Pro or Enterprise. Pro and Enterprise organizations receive five AI builds per month; failed generations release the reserved credit. AlignMint does not submit grants on your behalf—always review narratives before upload.

Award recording creates accounting follow-up; it does not mark a grant as submitted automatically.
