Customizing Your Dashboard
Customizing Your Dashboard
Every role cares about different numbers. Customize your dashboard so executives see giving trends while finance sees fund balances, tasks, and alerts without cluttering the same screen.
What You Can Do
- Add, remove, resize, and rearrange widgets in edit mode
- Save a personal layout that does not change other users' dashboards
- Choose charts, fund summaries, to-do lists, and Quick Actions cards
Common Tasks
Build a leadership view
- Click Customize on the dashboard.
- Add donation summary and trend widgets; remove tools you rarely use.
- Resize charts for readability, then click Done.
Reset after experimenting
- Enter customize mode again.
- Remove widgets you do not need or add back defaults from the widget picker.
- Save when the layout feels right for your weekly routine.
Good to Know
Some widgets, including Fund Summary, require Plus or higher plans with fund accounting. If a widget is unavailable, your plan or permissions may not include that feature yet.
Widget Management
Add Widgets: Click the + button to browse available widgets and add them to your dashboard
Remove Widgets: Click the X on any widget to remove it from your view
Rearrange: Use the move handles to reorder widgets on the page
Resize: Drag widget edges to make them larger or smaller—useful for giving charts more room or compacting summary cards
Available Widgets
Choose from the following widgets to build your ideal dashboard:
Donation Summary: Total donations, count, and average gift amount for the current period with trend indicators comparing to the previous period
Donor Metrics: New donors, active donors, and lapsed donors at a glance—helps you spot retention issues early
Cash Balance Overview: Real-time cash balances across all connected bank accounts
Recent Activity Feed: Live feed of the latest donations, expenses, and actions across your organization
Donation Trends Chart: Line chart showing giving over time—filter by day, week, month, or year-to-date
Fund Breakdown Chart: Pie chart showing how donations are distributed across your funds (unrestricted, temporarily restricted, permanently restricted)
Outstanding Pledges: Summary of open pledges with amounts and due dates so nothing falls through the cracks
Quick Actions: One-click shortcuts for your most common tasks—record a donation, add an expense, create a task, and more
To-Do List: Your personal task list with priorities, due dates, and assignees
Goal Progress: Visual progress bar toward your annual donation goal with milestone markers
Per-User Layouts
Every user in your organization gets their own dashboard layout. Your customizations are saved automatically and persist across sessions and devices. If a new team member joins, they start with the default layout and can customize from there.
Dashboard Layout Tips
Executive Directors: Lead with Donation Summary, Donor Metrics, and Goal Progress for a high-level view
Bookkeepers: Prioritize Cash Balance, Fund Breakdown, and Outstanding Pledges for financial focus
Development Staff: Focus on Recent Activity, Donation Trends, and Quick Actions for day-to-day workflow
Volunteer Coordinators: Add Quick Actions and To-Do List for task management alongside activity feeds
Resetting Your Dashboard
To go back to the default layout, click Customize and then Reset to Default. This restores the standard widget arrangement without affecting any of your underlying data.
