Audit Log

Quick Answer: Audit Log

Audit Log is the Fund Accounting history of who changed financial records and when. Filter by date, person, and action, then export a listing for your CPA or board packet. The log is read-only—it never edits the underlying journal entry, deposit, or bill. Parent organizations with accounting access see it under Close & Controls.

Where to find it

Open Fund Accounting → Audit Log from the Close & Controls group. The tile is parent-organization only. Fund-level staff still work in the ledgers and deposit tools; the log is the oversight view for the parent books.

What you can do

  • Filter by date range, teammate, table, or action type
  • Scan summary tiles before you drill into a specific change
  • Open related journal entries when a change points at the general ledger
  • Export the filtered listing for auditors

Common tasks

Explain a voided deposit to your treasurer

  1. Open Fund Accounting → Audit Log.
  2. Set the date to the day the void happened and filter to deposit or journal actions.
  3. Confirm who posted the void, then open the linked journal entry if you need the debit and credit lines.

Good to Know

The log is append-only. Correcting a mistake means using the original tool (Journal Entries, Deposit History, Bills) so the next audit row records that repair. Plus and above with fund accounting include Audit Log on the parent organization. See Journal Entries, Deposit History, and Month-End Close Checklist.
