Fund Summary

Quick Answer: Fund Summary

The Fund Summary widget (labeled Cash Balance on screen) shows your organization's current cash total from bank and cash accounts, compared to the same date last year. A green, amber, or red indicator flags whether you are on track. Click through to the Balance Sheet report for detail. Requires Plus, Pro, or Enterprise with fund accounting.

What the card shows

Add Fund Summary from dashboard edit mode. The card displays your current cash balance—the sum of cash and bank asset accounts from the balance sheet—as of the end of the selected time period. A subtitle shows the as-of date. A percentage change with a trend arrow compares this balance to the same calendar date one year ago.

Traffic light status

  • Green (on track): Current balance is at least 90% of last year's balance, or last year was zero and you now have cash.

  • Amber (caution): Current balance is 70–90% of last year.

  • Red (behind): Current balance is below 70% of last year, or cash is negative.

  • Gray (neutral): Both periods show zero cash.

Time period and entity filter

The card respects the same global time period and organization filter as the rest of the dashboard. Switch funds in the header to see a single fund's cash, or view consolidated totals when your role includes multiple organizations.

Open the Balance Sheet

Click View Balance Sheet on the card to open the full Balance Sheet report with account-level detail. Use this when a board member asks for proof behind the headline number on the dashboard.

Plan availability

Fund Summary requires Plus, Pro, or Enterprise with fund accounting. The Free plan still shows donation metrics and other dashboard widgets, but not cash balance from the general ledger. Balances reflect posted ledger activity; pending drafts may not appear until they are posted.
