Define and manage donation purposes (also called designations) for your organization. When donors give to a specific purpose, the donation is automatically categorized and routed to the correct fund and account.

Setting Up Purposes

Create purposes like "Building Fund," "Youth Program," or "Mission Trip"
Map each purpose to a specific fund and revenue account
Set whether the purpose is active or retired

How Purposes Work

When a donation comes in (online or manual entry), the staff member or donor selects a purpose. Alignmint automatically assigns the donation to the mapped fund and creates the correct accounting entries.

On Donation Pages

Active purposes appear as options on your public donation pages, letting donors choose exactly where their gift goes.
