Giving Setup is the parent-level workflow for provider verification, settlement details, the organization’s approved payment profile, and required payment-posting mappings. Checkout becomes available only after provider, organization, and accounting readiness checks pass. A completed setup can make eligible donation, Video Blast, non-taxable event, and eligible inventory card checkout available without a separate surface activation.

Who Completes Setup

A parent-organization director completes Giving Setup. Child funds inherit the parent payment readiness while retaining their own donation and fund attribution. The setup does not let a child fund create a separate payment configuration or replace the parent workflow.

How Readiness Works

Giving Setup records organization-level readiness. It does not make every checkout available automatically: each eligible surface independently checks its permissions, current eligibility, and required accounting mappings before creating a payment attempt. For example, event checkout also requires an active eligible organization, a non-taxable event, ticket availability, and its event-revenue mapping.

Account Mapping Requirements

Giving Setup does not create accounts or overwrite your historical entries. The required active account mappings must be present for the transaction type before checkout begins. If they are missing, AlignMint reports the missing purpose and stops before sending a processor payment request.
