Organization Settings

Organization Settings is your central hub for configuring how Alignmint works for your nonprofit. Everything from your legal name and EIN to your fiscal year and branding lives here. Getting these right from the start ensures accurate receipts, compliant reports, and a polished experience for your donors and team.

General Settings

• Organization Name: Your legal name as registered with the IRS. Appears on all receipts, reports, and donor-facing pages.
• EIN: Your 9-digit Employer Identification Number. Required for IRS-compliant donation receipts.
• Address: Your mailing address for receipts and correspondence.
• Phone & Website: Contact details shown on donation pages and receipts.
• Logo: Upload your logo for branding on receipts, donation pages, reports, and the Donor Portal.

Fiscal Year

Set your fiscal year end date. Most nonprofits use December 31 (calendar year), but June 30 and September 30 are also common. Your fiscal year determines how all financial reports are generated and when year-end processes run.

Time Zone & Regional

• Time Zone: Ensures all timestamps, scheduled campaigns, and automatic reports are accurate for your location.
• Currency: USD by default. Multi-currency support available on Enterprise plans.
• Date Format: Choose MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY based on your preference.

Email Settings

• Receipt Templates: Customize the thank-you message, tax-deductibility language, and branding on donation receipts.
• Auto-Send Receipts: Toggle automatic receipt emails when donations are recorded.
• Sender Name: Set the "From" name on all system emails (e.g., your organization name or a person's name).
• Notification Preferences: Control which email notifications you receive (donations, tasks, approvals, waivers).

Appearance

• Accounting Basis: Choose Cash, Accrual, or Both. This controls which accounting tools are visible (Bills Manager and Pledges Manager only appear with Accrual or Both).
• Theme: Light mode, dark mode, or follow your system settings.

Navigate to Administration → Organization Settings. Only admins can access this page.
