Sync with Aplos

If your organization is migrating from Aplos or needs to maintain data consistency across both systems during a transition period, Alignmint's Aplos Sync tool makes it easy. Import your existing Aplos data into Alignmint and optionally keep the two systems in sync while you complete your migration.

What Syncs

• Chart of Accounts: Import your Aplos account structure directly into Alignmint. Account numbers, names, types, and hierarchies are preserved.
• Transactions: Bring over historical donations, expenses, and journal entries so your financial history is complete in Alignmint from day one.
• Contacts: Import donor and vendor records with contact information, giving history, and notes.
• Fund Balances: Reconcile fund totals between systems to ensure nothing is lost in the migration.
• Tags & Categories: Aplos tags map to Alignmint's fund and category structure.

Setting Up Sync

1. Navigate to Administration → Integrations
2. Click "Connect Aplos"
3. Enter your Aplos API credentials
4. Map your Aplos accounts and funds to their Alignmint equivalents (the tool suggests automatic mappings)
5. Choose which data to import (accounts, contacts, transactions, or all)
6. Configure ongoing sync frequency if desired

Sync Options

• One-Time Import: Pull all historical data from Aplos into Alignmint. Best for organizations making a clean switch.
• Real-Time: Sync immediately when transactions are posted. Useful during a gradual transition.
• Daily: Batch sync once per day at a scheduled time.
• Manual: Sync on demand whenever you choose.

Migration Best Practices

We recommend running both systems in parallel for one month to verify that all data matches. Once you're confident everything is accurate in Alignmint, you can disable the sync and discontinue Aplos.
